NowGo Privacy Policy

NowGo (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) helps you discover events happening tonight in New York City. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Location

If you grant permission, NowGo uses your device’s precise location to:

• Show you events near where you are
• Estimate travel time and tell you when to leave

Location data is used on your device to power these features and is sent to our servers only as coordinates alongside an event search request — it is not linked to your name or identity, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device’s Settings; the app will still work, just without distance/travel-time features.

Usage Analytics

We use PostHog, a third-party analytics provider, to understand how people use the app — for example, which screens are viewed, which filters are used, and when errors occur. This includes:

• App interactions (screen views, button taps, filters applied)
• Your onboarding preferences (identity type, event interests, budget range) — sent to our analytics provider tied to an anonymous device ID, not to your name or email
• Crash and error reports

This data is used only to improve the app and is not sold to third parties or used for advertising.

Our Website

nowgoapp.com also uses PostHog to count visits, where visitors came from (for example, a link shared on Reddit), and clicks on the TestFlight link. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, so a visit is not connected to any earlier or later one. If you join the email list, your address goes to our email provider, Loops, and is never sent to PostHog.

Locally Stored Preferences

Your onboarding choices (interests, budget, identity) are saved on your device so the app remembers your preferences between sessions. This local storage is not accessible to other apps.

What We Don’t Collect

NowGo does not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or payment information. If you email us feedback from the app, we see your email address the way we would any email you send us. Ticket purchases happen entirely on the event organizer’s or ticketing partner’s website — we never see your payment details.

Third-Party Services

• PostHog (analytics) — see PostHog’s privacy policy
• Loops (the nowgoapp.com email list, only if you sign up) — see Loops’ privacy policy
• Apple Maps — tapping “Directions” opens Apple Maps with the venue address; this is handled by Apple, not NowGo
• Ticketing & event partners — tapping “Get Tickets” takes you to an external site with its own privacy practices

Data Retention & Your Choices

• You can disable location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services
• You can request that we delete analytics data associated with your device by contacting us at hello@nowgoapp.com
• Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored preferences from your device

Children’s Privacy

NowGo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above.
